Encore Program Overview

Thank you for your interest in HP Middleware. The Middleware product suite has been withdrawn from marketing, is now handled under the HP Software Services Encore Program and is no longer available for download from this location. These products are obsolete and any reference to J2EE compatibility, compliance, or relationship to Sun whatsoever is no longer applicable. If you have a Middleware requirement and need assistance, please feel free to contact your local HP sales representative or HP software business partner.
Encore Program Information

Middleware. Key Decisions:

The new HP will be equally strong on UNIX, Windows® and Linux-based servers, requiring middleware solutions to support all platforms. HP will leverage key relationships that enhance the middleware stacks around both J2EE and .NET to deliver a comprehensive ecosystem for HP and partners' application infrastructure components. In addition to building out value chains and ecosystems for the .NET and J2EE stacks separately, we will help customers manage the heterogeneous stack environments by providing key interoperability through our services and solutions organizations.
Due to this post-merger shift in the company's software strategy, HP has re-assessed its middleware investments that focused on delivering application infrastructure solutions and has decided to discontinue the HP Application Server, HP Web Services Platform and HP Web Services Registry products in its middleware portfolio. HP will leverage the technologies associated with these products and continue development of technologies and products in selected strategic areas, specifically in the space of Web services management and business activity management. This will enable HP to extend the power of HP OpenView across infrastructure, Web services and business processes.

Developers. Key Decisions:

HP is deepening its commitment to developers and is the right partner to work with for J2EE and .NET tools, for management, UDC and IPF development. HP is taking a leadership role to integrate development and management through standards initiatives, developer tools, community/content and developer support products to simplify for developers this transition to a new way of thinking and working.
